Best Android Tablets 2017: The Best Devices Running Google’s OS

Tablets come with bigger screens making them ideal devices for both entertainment and productivity. A number of manufacturers offer their version of a tablet: there’s the Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft that runs on Windows 10 and the quite recent iPad Pro 9.7 from Apple. Although the tablets running iOS dominate the market, it receives tough competition from devices using the Android operating system. If you are looking for devices that specifically run on Google’s OS, there are lots of options to consider.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

This is the darling of the tablet world right now, particularly the Android tablet market. As a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, it offers a lot of enhancements over its predecessor. It is being hailed as the best Android tablet right now because of its powerful processor and HDR-ready display, something that isn’t offered by rival iPads.

The Galaxy Tab S3 from Samsung comes with an S-Pen stylus out of the box, unlike the tablets from Apple. The S-Pen also doesn’t need to be charged which is really helpful and its flat nature means it won’t roll away from you. A slight problem might be the unavailability of a holster to store it, but you can buy the keyboard attachment which does offer space for you to slot in the pen.

The price of this tablet is along the same range of those offered by Apple. Then again, it does offer better features over its rivals.

Asus ZenPad 3S 10

Apple is a major competitor in the field of tablets, and Asus’ strategy to beat the competition is to copy them. You can be forgiven for thinking that the ZenPad 3S 10 looks eerily similar to the iPad Pro 9.7 because it really is. Basically, it’s a dead ringer for an iPad but with Android flexibilities.

Although the ZenPad 3S 10 borrows a lot of design concepts from its rival, it can’t quite compare in terms of quality. Yes, the screen is a brilliant 2K display and great audio make it an ideal entertainment companion but it fails in other aspects. The tablet may come with a camera but quality is quite poor and battery life isn’t really good.

The ZenPad 3S 10 is the ideal choice if you like a tablet to serve mainly as an entertainment device. With a brilliant screen and even better audio, you’ll have fun watching videos and listening to music on this device.

Google Pixel C

If what you’re looking for in a tablet includes great design, power, and a brilliant display then Google has answered your needs with the Pixel C. But with great features comes a few disappointments: the tablet is heavy and the device seems geared for touch despite coming with a keyboard dock. Then again, if you’re looking for a Google tablet, you can’t go wrong with the Pixel C.

These three tablets are the best devices running on the Android platform right now. If you like a tablet using a different mobile platform, check this Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and iPad Pro comparison.
