Before you start with the factory data reset, it is essential to backup your data and everything that is important to you as everything will be deleted. When you do that, make sure your device is charged or you can connect it to a power source as the process can last for a while. Then, follow a few simple steps below:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap Backup & reset
  • Click on Factory data reset
  • Tap Reset phone
  • If you set a screen lock on your Nexus 6, you will have to enter the password, pin or pattern
  • Tap Erase everything
  • When the process is completed, select the “Restart” option

That’s it! Your device will now have the factory settings and only the pre-installed apps  so it will perform better.
